Deckle Reader — Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026 · Français
This policy covers the Deckle Reader app for Android, published by MR INNOVATION INC. ("we", "us"). It is separate from our website and services privacy policy, which covers our website and any product that has an account. Deckle Reader has no account, and it collects no personal information.
1. What we collect
Nothing. The app has no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no network access. It does not connect to the internet. You choose each file through Android's own file and photo pickers, so the app does not ask for permission to read your storage, contacts, location, microphone or camera. We never receive anything you do in the app, including the documents you open.
2. What stays on your device
To work, the app stores the following on your device only:
- a list of recent documents: the file name, a reference to where Android keeps the file, its page count, the last page you read, whether you starred it, and when you last opened it;
- your settings, such as theme, page colour, keep screen on, and which PDF engine draws pages;
- any signatures you draw and save, as images.
A document sent to the app with Android's Share command may be copied to the app's private temporary storage while it is open, and that copy is deleted when you close it.
3. Your documents
PDFs are opened, read, edited and created on your device. They are never uploaded. When you sign, add text or marks, or change pages, the app saves a new copy in the place you choose. It changes the original file only if you choose Overwrite and confirm. Files you create from photos or documents are saved where you choose.
4. Android backup
The app turns Android backup off. Your recent-documents list, settings and saved signatures are not copied to your Google account and do not transfer to a new phone. On a new device you start with a clean app.
5. Sharing
We do not share, sell or transfer any information to anyone, because the app gives us none. If you use Android's Share command on a file, you decide who receives it, and that app's own privacy policy applies.
6. Deleting your data
Remove a document from the recent list from the menu on its row. Delete saved signatures in Settings > Signatures. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android's app settings, removes everything the app keeps. PDFs you saved or created are your own files and stay where you put them until you delete them.
7. Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes any of this, for example by adding purchases, ads or a network feature, we will update this policy before that version is released. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
